Disney+ Is Reportedly Working on "Live Channels" For MCU Titles and TV Shows

Disney+ is supposedly developing a new "live channel" feature for its streaming service, similar to that of the pre-streaming era.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the "pop-up" feature is primarily for subscribers who "don’t have the time or energy to scroll through viewing options" that Disney+ offers. Possible titles that could air on the "live channels" include franchises from the Marvel Cinematic Universe or popular TV shows such as The Simpsons, while sponsorships and ads have also been discussed.

Another new feature that could roll out within six months is a tailored algorithm that's even more personalized for the subscriber, with content recommendations and customized promotional art for new titles that are based on users' "tastes and usage history." Subscribers could also receive emails to finish watching TV shows that they've stopped halfway through.
