Jameson Announces First Music Distiller Program with Anderson .Paak

Irish whiskey brand Jameson is doubling down on its commitment to the creative scene as it launches a global music program titled Distilled Sounds. With the first installment headed by California-based artist and producer Anderson .Paak, the multi-year collaborative initiative will connect more than 20 musicians from different regions to collaborate, produce, and perform new sounds together.

As part of the launch announcement made earlier today, Jameson premiered a new short film featuring the NxWorries artist as both himself and his alter ego DJ Pee .Wee. Directed by filmmaker Glenn Kitson, the comedy sketch sees the iconic 64 Sound Studio turn into a Jameson radio station where Anderson .Paak is found broadcasting the news. Explaining the stimulus behind his involvement, he says, “Some of the best tracks I have come from collaboration, and with Distilled Sounds we’re building a family of musicians.”

Like the notion of sharing a glass of whiskey with friends, the brand aims to use Distilled Sounds as a platform for exchanging ideas and unique styles. Whilst regional sounds continue to reach a wider global audience, it hopes that the opportunity to cross-collaborate in real life will encourage the group of artists to experiment with different genres and sounds embedded in the local landscapes.

Naturally, the first leg of this global collaboration tour will commence in Jameson’s hometown of Cork next month. Here, Anderson .Paak will unite with the musicians at its Sound Distillery where he is said to “teach and support” them as they create their new library of music. Commenting on the inaugural meet-up, the artist explains, “[It] will enable artists from across the globe to get in a room together to unlock the magic of connection. The connection and energy needed for songwriting is best served face-to-face, so we’ll be bringing artists to Ireland where they’ll engage in a week’s worth of creativity, jamming, and making new music in our Sound Distillery.”
