ETTC: Woman reflects on husband's death

On Tuesday's episode of BBC's Escape to the Country, househunter Andrea revealed her poignant reason for leaving her London abode.

The American-born widow was seeking a fresh start in the countryside after her husband passed away in 2013.

As the show revisited Andrea's story, viewers were touched by her emotional journey. Presenter Steve empathised, "Moving home, especially to a new area, is a big deal in anyone's book.

"I mean, who knows what the future holds? That must be made so much harder when the place you're moving from has so many special memories."

The audience caught a glimpse into Andrea's life as she shared insights from within her current home. She reflected, "This is the house that I moved into with my husband.

"It was his house before I met and married him. It has always been a place where after he died, I wanted to stay. To make sure that the memories of him were as close to me."

She continued, expressing a heartfelt realisation, "However, now I feel, I've realised the memories don't leave if you just leave a place, they come with you and they come with you forever."

Before embarking on her property search, it was disclosed that Andrea sought a two-bedroom house with a garden for her dog Luna.

With a generous budget of £500,000, Andrea, accompanied by her best friend Holly, embarked on a quest to find the perfect Surrey dwelling, reports the Mirror.
