New 'Stranger Things' Featurette Reveals First Footage of Final Season

Netflix and the Duffer Brothers have revealed a first look at the upcoming fifth and final season of Stranger Things. The featurette was posted to social media and gave fans a first look at the cast in the upcoming season, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the Hawkins kids.

The actors reflected on their time on the show with Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, recounting, "I started when I was 10, I’m now turning 20 years old." Noah Schnapp said, "It's just so exciting, I think this is going to be the best season yet." The final season is expected to finish filming around Christmas, currently just halfway done. The next season is slated to arrive sometime next year.

In the social media post, Netflix teased, "Take it all in, nerds...we've hit the halfway mark of filming the final season and wanted to give you all a look at what we've been up to." In a recent interview, Maya Hawke said that the eight episodes of the season feel like eight "very long" films. She said, "Season 4 and season 5 are very connected. Season 4 had a part I and part II because they separated them, so the last two episodes came out at a different time, which is unusual for streaming. But this is its own season. It is a continuation, but it's the finale. And it has been a long time since last season."
