Wiz Khalifa arrested and charged after smoking weed on stage in Romania

Wiz Khalifa has been arrested and charged after smoking weed on stage at a music festival in Romania.

The rapper – real name Cameron Thomaz – served as a headliner for the Beach Please! Festival in Black Sea Coast, Romania over the weekend (July 13). During his performance, he took a moment to smoke a joint while Dr. Dre‘s ‘The Next Episode’ played in the background.

Shortly after his performance, footage of the rapper being arrested at the festival started circulating. In the video, Khalifa can be seen being escorted by various police officers off of the premises. Cannabis is illegal for recreational use in Romania.

Artist Wiz Khalifa Has Been ARRESTED In Romania & Allegedly Charged With Illegally Possessing More Than 18 Grams Of Cannabis/Marijuana After Smoking On Stage While Preforming .

A press release from Romanian anti-organized crime prosecutors DIICOT read: “During a recital held during a music festival held in the Costinești resort, Constanța county, [Khalifa] possessed over 18 grams of cannabis (risk drug) and consumed (onstage) another amount of cannabis under the shape of a craft cigarette.

“We make it clear that, during the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence,” (via The Hollywood Reporter.)

According to Metro, the ‘Black And Yellow’ rapper was allegedly questioned by the authorities yesterday (June 14) and was later released from custody.

Khalifa took to his official X/Twitter account to apologise for smoking at the festival during his performance. “Last nights show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage. They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big ass joint next time,” he tweeted.

Last year, Khalifa revealed that he had consumed magic mushrooms before throwing the first pitch at a baseball game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cleveland Guardians.
