Yan Zhichan removed from Liaison Office post

China’s State Council has announced that Yan Zhichan has been removed as deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR. Yan was appointed as one of the Liaison Office’s four vice-directors in 2020. Yan has held many senior government and Communist Party of China (CPC) positions in various cities and provinces, such as in Zhanjiang, Jieyang, Anhui and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Before her posting to Macau, Yan was a vice-chairwoman of Guangxi.
