BBC Breakfast host forced to issue apology as show halted over Rishi Sunak error
BBC Breakfast presenter Roger Johnson was forced to apologise to a guest as a video of Rishi Sunak's leaving speech began playing over him as he spoke. Tim Mongomerie founder of the Conservative home website was on the show via video link discussing the results of the general election alongside columnist Sonia Sodha.
Tim was giving his opinions on current feelings within the Conservative Party following their crushing defeat in the General Election. As he gave his opinion on where they should go from here regarding leadership, a clip of Rishsi Sunak giving his speech as he departed Downing Street appeared on screen.
The former Prime Minister could be heard talking over Tim who was audibly confused in the background. As he stumbled clearly wondering what was going on Roger jumped in to apologise.
"Sorry Tim Carry on it was a mistake our end," he admitted. We're seeing some pictures of Rishi Sunak as he left Downing Street."
The clip carried on for another couple of seconds before the screen finally cut back to Roger who was able to finish his point.

As she and co-host Charlie Stayt discussed the Glastonbury festival he was cut off mid sentence as Naga let out a huge sneeze.
After excusing herself, Charlie looked a bit taken aback as he said: “Bless you”.Looking straight into the camera, she said: “Sorry!”
Although her co-star didn’t seem to mind as he replied: “It’s alright, doesn’t happen very often.” Naga reached behind the sofa to grab herself a tissue as Charlie told her that he’d carry on with his sentence.
While the BBC presenter continued to touch on Glastonbury, Naga faced the camera again, this time with a tissue in hand.

However, it looked as though she was trying to stifle another sneeze. After viewers saw a snippet of Dua Lipa’s performance at Glastonbury from Friday night, they returned back on-screen.
Introducing the weather segment, Naga quipped: “Good weather at Glastonbury. Hay fever, that’s what it is! Hay fever, high pollen count is still around.”
Charlie asked: “Is that what that was just now?”
As Naga laughed, slightly embarrassed by the whole ordeal, she replied: “I don’t know!”
