EastEnders Nish 'not actually dying' as fans have 'proof' soap villain is 'faking it'
EastEnders enthusiasts are convinced that villainous character Nish Panesar, portrayed by Navin Chowdhry, isn't truly on his deathbed.
The notorious businessman, who first appeared on the soap in 2022, has quickly become one of its most significant antagonists. His time in Walford, filled with dramatic events from attempted murder to spousal abuse, has been anything but dull. Recently, he returned with shocking news for his family: he's dying.
It was disclosed that a virus was causing Nish's heart to fail rapidly, leading to a diagnosis of viral myocarditis and an urgent need for a heart transplant. Initially, the Panesar family was reluctant to welcome him back.
However, his son Ravi (Aaron Thiara) put their differences aside to support him, unlike his ex-wife Suki. Vinny (Shiv Jalota), another son, initially refused to associate with him but later promised to be there for him, given their limited time together.

In the recent episode, Nish returned to Albert Square from a hospital visit to his grandson Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury). As he exited the taxi, he spotted his son Ravi across the street.
Suddenly, he feigned a coughing fit and hobbled over. Seeing his 'struggling' father, Ravi rushed over to help him and escorted him back home.
Audiences were quick to notice Nish's 'pretence' and took to social media to voice their opinions. On a Facebook fan page, one viewer commented: "I don't think he's even ill (Nish) the way he saw Ravi then started coughing etc.. he's faking it."

The same viewer further noted: "He definitely put on an act when he saw Ravi, something not right. Never know, it is soapland, after all, anything can happen."
Another person wrote: "So, Nish is exaggerating his symptoms, or at least making them seem worse than they are. He really is a nasty piece of work. I hope Suki sides with Priya, who has been really stupid!"
Meanwhile, on X, another fan expressed: "Oh what a **** Nish is! He's not even ill! I'm 99% sure of it! " (sic).
