Nigel Farage turns on GB News over lack of broadcast about Reform UK coverage

Nigel Farage hits out at Ofcom over Reform UK election coverage

Nigel Farage has slammed GB News and other channels over its lack of broadcast of Reform UK in the run up to the General Election.

Speaking to the broadcaster, the Reform UK leader complained that GB News and other broadcasters have not given Reform UK proper election coverage.

He said: "The problem we've had through GB News, ITV - I can't even talk about the BBC." He is then interupted and told that GB News has done a lot of coverage on Reform UK.

Nigel hit back: "You have given us a tiny amount of coverage as a channel, because Ofcom have laid down the rules about the key determining factor about how much you cover are the last two general elections.

"I've never seen this ruling this year and I feel that all of you as a group of broadcasters are really being hemmed in by Ofcom in being able to cover what's really going on."

Last week, Nigel was grilled by Nick Robinson on a BBC election special of Panorama. The episode saw the Reform UK leader being asked about topics such as climate policies, migration, the NHS, Brexit and the invasion of Ukraine.

During one segment, Nigel was quizzed about his comments that Vladimir Putin was the statesman he most admired. He argued that his words had been taken out of context.

He said: " This is the nonsense, you know, you can pick any figure, current or historical, and say, did they have good aspects? And if you said, well, they were very talented in one area, then suddenly you’re the biggest supporter."

Nigel was also grilled about Liz Truss and how he described her mini-budget as “the best Conservative budget since the 1980s”. He laughed at Nick Robinson and replied: "Some of the thinking was right, the delivery was wrong, the timing was appalling."

He also took no blame about the problems with other Reform UK candidates. In his closing statement, he said: "Do you know what I am? I’m a fighter, I’m a warrior, I’m a campaigner.

"I stand up against big institutions when they behave badly, whether they’re banks or out of touch bureaucracies based in Brussels, and very often, I win."
