Eamonn Holmes shares tennis story about his ex-wife

Eamonn Holmes, the TV personality, was engaged in a nostalgic conversation about his younger days playing tennis with his co-stars Ellie Costello and sports reporter Paul Coyte.

Eamonn revealed he began playing tennis at an all-girls school, a story he referred to as "another story", before sharing a fond memory. He recalled: "A girl had stolen my racket which gave her an excuse to kiss me."

Ellie responded warmly: "Awww, that's quite sweet," to which Eamonn replied: "I know, I married her," His co-star reacted by saying: "Did you, that's really sweet. That's a nice love story."

This surprising revelation came after the former This Morning presenter abruptly left a live broadcast on GB News due to illness. At the time, he was interviewing Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Mental Health Maria Caulfield.

Following the interview, Eamonn was missing from the set, leaving Isabel to continue hosting their breakfast show alone for another hour and a half, reports the Mirror.

It's fair to say that Eamonn has been dealing with a lot recently, including the loss of his mother, various health issues, and his recent separation from his soon-to-be ex-wife, a star of Loose Women.

Eamonn and Ruth Langsford became a beloved duo while co-hosting the ITV daytime favourite This Morning. They held the position for 15 years before leaving the show in 2021.

The television duo, Ruth and Eamonn announced their separation after 14 years of marriage, with a statement released by their representative.

It read: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

Post-split, Eamonn has been spotted seeking solace with a family friend while maintaining his professional commitments.

In contrast, Ruth has stepped back from her television roles following the split announcement.

Eamonn addressed the end of their marriage on GB News, expressing gratitude for the public's support during this challenging time: "So here we are on this Tuesday morning and a lot of politics."

He added, "Just before we move on I would just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated."

Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel airs Monday to Wednesday at 6am on GB News.
