Chelsea have agreed on a deal to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City this summer, though they have been forced to part ways with one of their top young prospects, Michael Golding, to get a deal over the line.

The Blues are expected to splash the cash this summer, with Enzo Maresca demanding signings at both ends of the pitch.

The former Leicester boss is also set to be reunited with Dewsbury-Hall at Stamford Bridge, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign the midfielder from the Foxes.

The Blues will pay £30million to secure the signature of the Englishman, who is keen to join the club, with academy star Golding also heading to the King Power Stadium. The talented teen spent time with the Chelsea first-team last season, aged 17, and was even handed his debut by Mauricio Pochettino.

Golding came on as a second-half substitute in the Blues’ FA Cup third round-third victory over Preston. He replaced Enzo Fernandez in midfield in the 89th minute, with Chelsa 4-0 up at the time.

Although Golding was unable to truly impact the match, he did receive congratulatory messages from two of Chelsea’s most senior players. Ben Chilwell responded to a picture of the playmaker entering the fray on Instagram, writing: “Congratulations Geez! First of many here.”

Club captain Reece James also shared a photo of Golding on his story with the caption: “Happy for you lil bro.” The two Blues stars will therefore be disappointed to see one of Chelsea’s brightest academy products depart, though the arrival of Dewsbury-Hall may soften the blow.

The midfielder enjoyed a sensational campaign under Maresca last season, scoring 12 goals and registering 14 assisting in 44 Championship appearances and helping Leicester return to the English top-flight.

Although Chelsea aren’t short of options in midfield, Dewsbury-Hall is viewed as a good fit for the style of football set to be implemented at the club.

It remains to be seen whether further outgoings will be green-lighted as a result of the arrival of the 25-year-old, with Conor Gallagher among those linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge now that he is in the final 12 months of his contract with his boyhood side.
