Woman arrested after alleged murder at Lohas Park

Police on Sunday said they had arrested a 33-year-old woman on suspicion of murder after her 30-year-old husband was found dead from a knife wound at a flat in Lohas Park in Tseung Kwan O. Police said they had received a report about the incident from the suspect's father-in-law on Saturday night. Speaking at a press briefing, assistant district commander Tsang Chun-kit said initial enquiries suggested the woman may have been suffering from depression after giving birth to her son. "We need to thoroughly investigate her motive. The mental state of the suspect is one of the key areas that our investigation will focus on. This is because the suspect experienced significant depression after giving birth to her son. She had sought regular treatment from a private doctor," he explained. Tsang also said the couple had been married for five years and had no apparent financial problems. He added that at the time of the incident, their one-and-a-half-year-old son was being taken care of by his paternal grandfather.
