Susanna Reid halts Good Morning Britain as she's forced to shut down famous guest

GMB: Susanna Reid halts Michael Flatley during interview

Susanna Reid brought Good Morning Britain to an abrupt halt as she was forced to cut off Michael Flatley.

Susanna, 53, returned to the ITV programme for the third time this week, but was joined by Martin Lewis instead of Adil Ray. The duo spoke to Irish dancer Michael Flatley as his infamous Lord of the Dance show returns to stage.

The 65-year-old addressed his recent battle with cancer, confirming that he is now in remission. He underwent surgery after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer in January 2023.

Michael explained he was feeling "pretty good" and kept a "positive attitude" throughout. He added: "I never entertained the possibility that this could be fatal in any way. I surrendered myself to the Lord and he saw me through this."

The professional dancer claimed his Irish castle is to blame for his diagnosis, due to toxic chemicals in the property. Susanna quizzed him on this, saying: "I'm not sure if that is an official diagnosis or scientifically backed up, but this is what you feel has happened."

Michael branded himself one of the "fittest men in Ireland" before explaining the role he felt a fire played in his diagnosis. "We had a fire in 2016 and I turned the keys over to the big insurance companies to fix it."

The American star claimed since the fire happened, his health has "deteriorated" and he now has asthma, adding: "I think it's unfair." He went on to say that he feels the work on his home wasn't completed properly after the fire as they never "cleaned out the toxins".

Michael then directly named a company and an individual's name, leading Susanna to quickly interject. The presenter declared: "We shouldn't be mentioning company names by the way, or individuals because we don't know all the details."

He swiftly apologised, responding: "Sorry! Excuse me, that's my fault."

Despite being embroiled in a legal battle with a renovation contractor and three insurance underwriters over allegations of negligence, endangerment, misrepresentation, breach of duty, and contract - charges that the parties vehemently deny - Michael is gearing up for a UK tour this summer.

It will be his first performance series since he retired in 2016. Michael won't appear on stage himself, however, fans will get to watch three holograms of him.

He explained: "There's three of me dancing. It's called the three lords and we do a dance-off against each other and it's quite a highlight in the show. The audience seems to love it, which is a great thing."
