BBC Great British Sewing Bee fans switch over as they make 'scary' complaint
BBC's Great British Sewing Bee "terrified" viewers just minutes into the show this evening with a particularly "creepy" introduction.
Kiell Smith-Bynoe was back at the helm of the BBC show as the remaining contestants created exquisite and imaginative garments under the watchful eyes of judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant for Children's Week.
That meant that the sewers were tasked to put their twist on a sequin bomber, fashion animal-themed fancy dress from beach towels and unearth childhood photos of themselves to use as inspiration to create a brand-new outfit to fit a group of young models.
Presenter Kiell introduced the theme of the week as he wore an academic cap, and pointed to a whiteboard with drawings on using a cane. In front of him were a small crowd of child-sized mannequins - much to the horror of viewers at home.

Looking off camera the host joked: "It is kids isn't it? Just because I saw an ostrich in the carpark earlier..."

But fans at home were less than impressed as the creepy props at the start of the show "scared" them. Taking to social media, mainly X (formerly Twitter), one said: " "Nooooooooooo it's the kids challenge on Sewing Bee. The absolute f***ing worst. Intolerable. #SewingBee."
Another said: "Hands up, who else turned over after the first half [hand up emoji] #sewingbee!." A third asked: "Anyone else scared of children's mannequins? #SewingBee."
Someone else wrote: "I do think there should be assembly laws against gathering this many cursed child mannequins in one place #SewingBee." A fifth penned: "What a way to introduce Children's Week #SewingBee #gbsb."
Last week fans of the BBC show complained as the popular programme had changed channels. The hit show returned with a brand new episode on Tuesday, airing on BBC Two as opposed to BBC One due to coverage of the UEFA 2024 Euros.

But the scheduling conflict wasn't the only timing issue that peeved fans. They also complained that the contestants didn't have enough time to sew.
For their first challenge, the contestants were tasked with making a Nehru jacket. The group were given four hours to create the tailored item, which has welt pockets, a stand collar and five buttons down the front.
The sewers appeared to struggle with their time management during the task, with Georgie admitting to host Kiell that she was a "little behind".
With half an hour left, Suzy admitted she was working on "the worst" hem she's ever done. Lauren also confessed to having an issue with time, saying: "I'm not going to get my button holes or buttons on. So I'm going to sellotape it to you."
