ITV The Chase viewers fume 'waste of an hour' as they slam players for disappointing final

The Chase: Contestants disappoint viewers losing to Anne Hagerty

As another repeat episode of The Chase aired on Tuesday evening on ITV1, fans were left fuming with the four players after a disappointing final.

All four contestants, Steve, Jacque, Hanna and Eddie, successfully made it through to the final to go up against Anne Hegerty with the hopes of taking home a huge cash prize.

After accumulating £24,000 between them, it was time for the four to take on their final round, but unfortunately, they only managed to answer ten correct questions between them.

Viewers pointed out that Hanna was noticeably quiet during the round and failed to answer anything while Jacque was pulled up on saying "pass" for plenty of answers.

Anne, otherwise known as The Governess, proved why she's a force of nature on the show as she answered all of her questions with 53 seconds to spare, meaning the contestants were going home with nothing.

After Anne's landslide defeat, host Bradley Walsh said: "No attempts to push back, none executed of course, caught with 53 seconds remaining."

Fans at home took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts after being left frustrated by the performance of the players.

One person fumed: "Another facet of the many faceted Final Chase, it's bonkers that a full house with £24K in the bank can trip over themselves like that ... #TheChase."

Another viewer exclaimed: "When all 4 get into the final but they mess up….#TheChase." (sic)

Somebody else said: "They all sucked. Another waste of an hour #TheChase," while yet another penned: "Jacque the chief passer #TheChase."

A fifth asked: "Can someone check on Hanna, she appears to have frozen #TheChase."

While a sixth added: "Sorry but they missed some easy ones there!*! #TheChase."

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
