Jarrod Bowen bans dad from showing England flag and his brothers fall out
Jarrod Bowen has banned his dad from displaying an England flag on the family campervan in case he encountered the 'wrong fans’.
Bowen’s dad, Sam, has become somewhat of a cult hero for his Euro 2024 adventures, with the father of the West Ham United star travelling across Germany in a motorhome to watch the Three Lions.
Sam, who is joined on the road by fellow members of the Bowen family, set off from their family home in the UK before the tournament started and has clocked up hundreds of miles to watch his boy in action.
But Bowen Jr. has urged his dad to keep his wits about him, including making sure the campervan isn’t donning any England memorabilia.

He can’t get close to that.
"He has just been, I don’t know where he has been to be honest. He just kind of parks it up somewhere.
“I said take the England flags down just in case the windows might get put through if the wrong fans come across it.
“It has been long days for them but they’ve enjoyed it but with four of them they can all drive along the way and take turns in driving.”

The Bowen clan haven’t always been the happiest of campers though, with the England international revealing there have been some spats along the way.
He continued: “I think my brother fell out by the time they were five minutes up the road so you can imagine they’ve got so many hours and they’ve already fallen out.
“For me representing my country at a tournament and for them to come and do it that way, the way they are doing it, is really special for them as well.’’
So far the journey has been worthwhile, with Bowen having seen the pitch in both of England’s group games, twice coming off the bench as a substitute.

But he and his Three Lions team-mates have come under heavy criticism for their performances in Germany, despite qualifying from the group with one game to go.
Croatia’s 1-1 draw against Italy on Tuesday evening confirmed England’s advancement to the next round, with Gareth Southgate’s side guaranteed progression as one of the best third-place finishers.
However, the one-time world champions have the chance to top the group, which they’ll manage by beating Slovenia on Tuesday night.
