Emmerdale: Belle tells Tom she's had a miscarriage

Emmerdale legend Emma Atkins has paid tribute to her "incredible" co-star Eden Taylor-Draper.

They have worked together for years as relatives Belle and Chairty Dingle but the pair have been working more closely recently as Tom King's (James Chase) looks set to be finally caught out.

The village vet has been mentally and physically abusing his new wife Belle for months but it appears that Charity starts to become suspicious of their next week.

In upcoming scenes, Belle begins to panic as Charity, Chas (Lucy Pargeter), Mandy (Lisa Riley) and Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) question her on her relationship with Tom.

Charity pushes Belle to tell her what’s really going on but Belle is angered by their incessant questioning and storms out. Finding upset Belle outside the Woolpack, Charity kindly asks her once more to open up. Belle tears up, but spotting Tom coming she shoves Charity and flees home in a panic.

Charity’s incredulous as Tom shuts down her pursuit of Belle and insists his wife is struggling with her mental health. The other women worry that Charity overreacted and she frustratedly leaves the room, afraid she’s missed her chance to convince them that something’s wrong.

Speaking at a recent Emmerdale press event, Emma said: "I love Eden will all my heart so working with her, because we do see each other socially, it’s great because we’ve got some good stuff coming up so she’s going to come over and stay and we’re going to blast the scenes and work on it really hard.

"When we come to do this lovely episode and it will have real meaning because we would have worked on it. She's smashing it out of the park as the young ones would say."

"She is truly remarkable and I think she’s really found herself and she’s really coming into her own and she’s dong stuff and being challenged in a way she’s never been before and she’s stepping up to the mark and I’m really proud of her as a friend."

"Eden is incredible because you can tell she wants to open up and I think it's at that point where the audience will be like 'come on, you've got all your Dingle girlfriends and family around you, this is where she should be in her safe space' but mid girly night the phone goes and Tom is ringing her mobile and Belle goes out to take the call and Charity follows Belle out and goes 'he's around the corner why is he calling you?'

"I think that's going to excite the audience in a way because everybody is saying 'when is he going to get found out?' I have been watching and it’s strong stuff. I spend a lot of my time screaming at Tom. It’s difficult to watch sometimes I must say."

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
