Strictly's Amanda Abbington 'calls police' after receiving death threats from trolls
Strictly Come Dancing's Amanda Abbington has allegedly been besieged by death threats from online trolls, in the wake of Giovanni Pernice's departure from the dance show.
Amanda made a stunning exit from the previous BBC series, attributing "personal reasons" for her exit.
She later accused her former dance partner, Giovanni, of mistreatment, sharing that his coaching style left her feeling "shattered and crying," and dealing with "mild Post Traumatic Stress Disorder".
Giovanni, who ended his nine-year spell on Strictly Come Dancing a month ago, denied the allegations against him and vowed to clear his name.

They shared: "At one point she was struggling to handle the hundreds of messages containing nasty comments and threatening her safety."
Talking to The Sun, they added: "It was dreadful to deal with. The sheer volume was overwhelming and the content was unspeakable and incredibly threatening. The police have taken the messages seriously."

Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice has taken to Instagram to vehemently deny the recent allegations surrounding his behaviour.
With a following of 1.1 million, the Italian dancer used the platform to "reject" any claims of "abusive or threatening behaviour", amidst the media frenzy.
The 2019 Glitterball trophy winner, who partnered with Rose Ayling-Ellis, stated: "To my fans and followers, Every week, there are totally untrue stories about me in the media.
"As you know, I have always rejected any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour. The latest accusations are simply false."
