Central Cee and Asake Set Sail on New Track "Waves"

Central Cee and Asake have come together on a new track, titled "Waves." The summertime single, which crosses genre lines between afrobeats and UK drill, arrives with an accompanying music video directed by Edgar Esteves and Asake.

The funky single rides on an energetic, instrumental beat. "Make nobody stress me, I'm on a wave right now/When I get marijuana na to flex, na to chill right now," Asake sings in the chorus. Central Cee then hops on the first verse, rapping, "I was never playing for the undеr-18's/Now it’s 18 karats, that's another AP/Eight cribs to my name, and a couple AMGs."

In the visual, Central Cee and Asake are seen riding boats, playing billiards, driving ATVs and dancing in the streets. In the final frames, the track's gospel-inspired backing vocals soundtrack clips of local fans surrounding the power duo.

The track is only the latest collab for Central Cee, who previously joined forces with Lil Baby for "BAND4BAND." The chart-topper is busy prepping an album (reportedly titled CAN'T RUSH GREATNESS), which is expected to be released later this year.

Asake, meanwhile, announced his Lungu Boy World Tour earlier this month. The artist has not shared any additional info on his next full-length project, though it's rumored to drop ahead of his forthcoming shows.
