Gavin and Stacey new update after 'spoilers leaked' for Christmas special episode
A Gavin and Stacey boss has announced a new update on the sitcom's last ever episode, after Ruth Jones made up numerous "spoilers" about the show.
It was confirmed last month that the BBC sitcom series would be returning for its last ever episode on Christmas Day. Writer and actress Ruth Jones has since been bombarded by fans for spoilers on the upcoming special.
She quipped to fans earlier this month that there could be a "helicopter crash" and also voiced her frustration after the Christmas episode news was "leaked" in February.
According to The Sun, the head of the BBC sitcom Jon Petrie said: "They are really keeping it under wraps and don't want people to see it outside of their very, very tight circle until they're 100% certain of it."
He added: "I think it will be hard when they are filming it because it's such a huge show and everyone will want to watch, everyone in all the locations where it's shot, it will be obvious what's being shot."

After signing autographs, she then said that numerous Gavin and Stacey fans have bombarded her with questions about the upcoming episode.
She added: "And I go to them, 'Do you seriously want me to tell you what’s going to happen in the Christmas Special?' And they go 'yes!'. And I go 'but you don’t, because what happens on Christmas Day when you come to watch it, you’ll know what’s going to happen.' And they go, 'please tell me'.

"So, I go (jokingly) 'there’s going to be helicopter crash, most of the cast are going to get killed', and I just make stuff up!"
James Corden shared the announcement on his official Instagram account last month with a photo teasing the news.
Showing a black and white image of himself with co-star Ruth Jones, James wrote: "Some news… It’s official!!! We have finished writing the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey. See you on Christmas Day, BBC One. Love Ruth and James."
Gavin and Stacey ran for three seasons and a Christmas episode between 2007 and 2010 on the BBC, before returning in 2019 for a Christmas special which ended on a cliffhanger when Nessa (Ruth) proposed to Smithy (James).
It was reported earlier this year that the BBC sitcom was rumoured to make a return for a Christmas special.
