In a momentous victory, Tiger Woods' son Charlie won the US Junior Amateur qualifier in Florida, outrunning 75 competitors.

Charlie, who was key in aiding Tiger at the US Open last week, excelled with an impressive one-under 71 at Eagle Trace Golf Club during Wednesday's game. Winning the qualifier by just one stroke, he is now set for participation in the forthcoming US Junior Amateur Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club's North and restored South courses.

This upcoming event will pit Charlie against 263 reputable youth golf players, all facing two rounds of stroke play on each course. The leading 64 will then proceed to match play on the South Course, deciding the championship.

The champion secures a spot in the 2025 US Open at Oakmont.

Despite starting slow with a bogey in holes 3 and 10, Charlie presented a strong finish in the Florida qualifier, posting three birdies within four holes on the back nine.

The 15 year old remarked: "I didn't play great my first two holes, but I played really good for the last 16," adding that he reminded himself not to make any further bogeys or doubles. He took advantage when he had the opportunity for birdies.

Showing his focus and aspirations, Charlie declared: "The USGA means a lot to me. I want to win USGA championships and hopefully one day the US Open."

Charlie Woods is set to carve his own legacy at the historic 108 year old Oakland Hills course, which is gearing up to host future champions. Jeff Judge, Junior Amateur chairman and ex-president of Oakland Hills, expressed his anticipation: "I look forward to seeing the next generation of future golf stars at Oakland Hills in July competing for the most coveted championship in junior golf."

Tiger Woods was a mere 14 years old when he first made waves at the US Junior, storming into the semifinals. The golf icon secured his inaugural US Junior Amateur title the following year at Bay Hill, setting a record with three consecutive wins.

Now, over two decades since Tiger Woods played in the US Ryder Cup team that faced defeat at Oakland Hills, his progeny, Charlie, is poised to swing on the same greens. The legendary golfer partnered with Phil Mickelson during that Ryder Cup, but they succumbed to European duos Colin Montgomerie with Padraig Harrington, and Darren Clarke with Lee Westwood.

Earlier in April, young Charlie took a shot at qualifying for the US Open but fell short. Competing at the Legacy Golf and Tennis Club in Port St.

He carded a 9-over 81, landing him in 61st place out of 74 contenders, with only the top five and two alternates moving past local qualifiers.

The young golfer, Charlie, who clinched a state high school championship with his team in Florida last year, has previously participated in tournaments. However, he didn't make it through the qualifying rounds for the PGA Tour's Cognizant Classic after shooting a 16-over 86.

In December, Charlie teamed up with Woods for the 2023 PNC Championship. The duo finished in a respectable fifth place, with Woods beaming with pride as his son didn't miss a fairway on the final day, helping them climb the leaderboard.
