Heesen Just Launched a Sleek New 164-Foot Aluminum Superyacht

Another Heesen beauty has hit the seas.

The 164-foot ALP was delivered to its owners this week, following the completion of rigorous tests in the North Sea in April. The superyacht, previously known as YN 20350, left her berth in Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands for her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean.

ALP is part of the Dutch yard’s successful 164-foot semi-displacement series, which notably includes Aquamarine and Book Ends. Heesen says the vessel offers fast cruising, modern comfort, and the latest technology. Designed by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, the exterior showcases sleek, sporty lines and precise aluminum construction. Heesen is one of the few shipyards that builds aluminum hulls in-house, ensuring quality engineering and meticulous weight calculations. Weight control means that the vessels meet the new emission regulations and other strict requirements without compromising on luxury.

Penned by Cristiano Gatto Design, the “contemporary but comfortable” interior spans just over 4,000 square feet and houses five staterooms for 12 guests plus five cabins for nine crew. The lavish owner’s suite is located forward on the main deck. Heesen Interiors, the yard’s cabinet-making company in Winterswijk, personalized all the interior furniture to the client’s taste, naturally.

Designed for alfresco entertaining, ALP is also replete with generous outdoor spaces. The expansive sundeck, partially protected by a hardtop, features a whirlpool and sun pads aft, a seating area forward, a fully equipped bar, and a dining area. Another dining area lies on the wheelhouse deck aft terrace by the plush skylounge. Heading to the main deck, the sprawling aft area is adorned with raised sun pads and another bar. Below sits a full-height beach club that will “be the center of the entertainment,” according to Heesen.

Powered by twin MTU engines, ALP has a top speed of 23 knots and a range of 3,100 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots. Her shallow draft of seven feet and volume of under 500 GT will enable her to navigate the shallow waters of the Bahamas or the Mediterranean ports in Portofino and Saint Tropez. Heesen also says ALP is 12 percent more efficient than previous 164-foot models.
