Have I Got News for You: Jason Manford hosts episode

Have I Got News For You viewers had their say as Jason Manford made his hosting debut. The comedian, 42, joined series regulars Ian Hislop and Paul Merton on Friday's instalment (May 17) of the BBC programme.

The latest episode saw Labour MP Jess Phillips and stand-up comedian Glenn Moore also on the panel as guests. Ahead of the episode, Jason urged fans to watch as he took to Instagram with a snap of himself in the hosting seat.

He wrote: "Tune in tonight at 9pm on @bbcone for this week’s episode of Have I Got News for You! Really funny episode with Ian & Paul and guests @jessphillipsmp @glennrogermoore."

His debut went down extremely well with viewers as they shared their thoughts on X, formerly Twitter. One wrote: "Jason Manford doing a good job as host on #hignfy this week. Top stuff as always."

The viewer replied, telling the dad-of-six to "enjoy his 300k paycheck." The 8 Out of 10 Cats star hit back: "As if I’d do it for such a little amount."

The HIGNFY fan added: "Be honest you’ve gone to the opening of an envelope for less." To which Jason said: "Only events I go to are mainly for charity so yes you’re right, it would’ve been for free."

After the viewer claimed Jason doesn't like to speak about his charity work, he concluded: "You might know 10% of the charity work I do, that’s between me and my god. Look at all the attention I’ve given you for example, little night off for your family. I’m all heart."
