MICHELIN UNVEILS INAUGURAL MICHELIN KEYS AWARDS

Michelin has unveiled its inaugural selection of Michelin Keys in France, marking a significant addition to the Michelin Guide’s prestigious accolades. The Michelin Keys spotlight exceptional establishments within the Guide’s hotel selection, epitomizing the finest in hospitality.

Selected by the Michelin Guide’s expert team through anonymous stays or visits, independent of existing ratings, tourism awards, or predetermined quotas, the Michelin Keys serve as a new global standard for travelers seeking accommodations distinguished by their unique hospitality concept, individual charm, warm reception, and exceptional level of service.

In this inaugural list, 189 hotels and lodgings, selected from approximately 600 establishments previously recommended by the Michelin Guide France, were honored with 24 Three Keys, 38 Two Keys, and 127 One Key distinctions.

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guides, expressed that with this new distinction, the Michelin Guide embarks on a fresh chapter in its commitment to serving travelers, a mission it has upheld for 124 years.

“Guided by our meticulous inspection process, our inspectors have curated this unprecedented list to share their top hotel experiences in France. Each establishment awarded One, Two, or Three Keys represents a masterpiece crafted by skilled professionals. Through the Guide’s digital platforms, travelers can refine their search and reserve Key-awarded hotels for stays we trust will be truly memorable,” Poullennec added.

Similar to the renowned Michelin Stars that signify exceptional culinary experiences in the Guide’s restaurant selection, the Michelin Keys recognize accommodations in the Guide’s hotel selection that offer unparalleled stays. They serve as a new benchmark for travelers, assessing the overall experience rather than solely focusing on amenities.

In Paris, renowned for its luxury “palace” hotels, five such establishments have received this prestigious recognition. Following France, the Michelin Keys will be unveiled for the United States (Atlanta, California, Chicago, Colorado, Florida, New York, and Washington DC) on April 24, for Spain on April 29, for Italy on May 7, and for Japan on July 4, 2024. Further destinations will be announced throughout the year.
