Manchester City star Kyle Walker trolled Arsenal supporters following his side’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham on Tuesday night. Some Gunners supporters attempted to disrupt City’s night sleep by letting off fireworks in the early hours of the match day, but no members of Pep Guardiola’s squad were actually in the area at the time.

City took a major step towards winning the Premier League on Tuesday night, with Erling Haaland bagging a brace to leave Arsenal hoping that West Ham can do them a massive on the final day of the season this weekend.

The Norwegian striker opened the scoring in the 51st minute from close range before putting the game to bed in the 91st minute from the penalty spot – just moments after Stefan Ortega had kept City’s lead intact with a sensational save to stop Son Heung-min’s effort.

The victory leaves Arsenal needing to beat Everton on the final day of the season and for City to lose against West Ham. The Gunners will feel that they have done all they could to prevent City from retaining their crown over the course of the campaign, with supporters even attempting to take matters into their own hands recently – much to the amusement of Walker.

Videos were shared online of Arsenal supporters letting off fireworks on Monday night in the hope of keeping the City squad awake, but the team were still in Manchester at that time. Walker couldn’t resist making a joke about the disturbances when speaking to Sky Sports at full-time.

He said: “As a footballer, the feeling that I got on the pitch there when we went 2-0 up, you don’t experience that too often. It’s not the fact that it’s Premier League (title) done, it’s the emotion.

“Last night, I couldn’t sleep, I was struggling to sleep. Then you get into the hotel today, I’ve heard they tried to set fireworks off the night before – they’d missed us, they’d missed us!

“But it’s little things like that, trying to scramble off for half an hour in the afternoon to get my head down but these are the games you want to play in, these are the things you want to be competing for.”

City will need to ensure that they keep a lid on their emotions heading into the final match of the season as they look to lift their fourth successive title, and they will be hoping to have an undisturbed night’s sleep beforehand given that they will host the Hammers at the Etihad Stadium.
