Police crack down on taxi and hire car violations

Police on Hong Kong Island have issued 14 traffic summons to seven taxi drivers for refusing to take passengers and failure to display the taxi meter or driver ID. The undercover crackdown, between April 26 and May 4, centred on the tourist areas of Central and Wan Chai. Meanwhile, officers in Hong Kong Island and West Kowloon have arrested three men for driving a car for hire without third party insurance. Two of the drivers had allegedly been offering cross-boundary services online.
