The Chase host Bradley Walsh was left utterly astounded as one team achieved the "highest final score" in the show's history. On Friday (May 3), the popular ITV quiz show saw host Bradley welcome a fresh batch of contestants.

Players included David, Tony, Natalie, and Marion - all of whom were eager to snag the hefty cash prize. This time, they faced off against Anne Hegerty, known as The Governess, who certainly didn't hold back in her efforts to outsmart the savvy contestants.

Remarkably, the team excelled, securing a place for each member in the final round. They were vying for an impressive jackpot of £47,000.

Before the final showdown, when asked about the team's chances, Anne predicted a strong start but suggested that they might falter as the pressure mounted. However, with all four contestants reaching the final, which is a rarity on the programme - they gained an advantageous four-step head start.

In a stunning display of knowledge, the team answered 23 questions correctly, leaving Bradley in shock. He commented: "Regular viewers will know, that's very high.

"This is going to be proper close, it's time for the Final Chase."

In a thrilling turn of events, the Governess failed to catch up with the team's impressive score of 23, halting at just 18 when the clock ran out.

The victorious team walked away with a hefty £47,000 prize pot, sharing £11,750 each.
