Ange Postecoglou shoulders the blame as Tottenham boss snaps back in spiky Sky interview
An angry Ange Postecoglou accepted responsibility for Tottenham Hotspur's damaging 2-0 defeat away to Chelsea on Thursday night. The result extends Spurs' dismal record away to Chelsea, with the capital club winless in all but one of their visits to east London since February 1990.

I am the manager and I am the one putting them out there and it was not good enough. As I said, I've got to have a look at myself in all of this and see how I can have more of an impact.
"When we put on a performance as we did in the first half, it means my message isn't getting through. That's for me to address."
When quizzed on what the message was, Postecoglou snapped back by saying: "Come on mate, we didn't play well, do you want me to write you a dossier of where it went wrong?

"Obviously I'll take responsibility, we were poor in the first half. [I] still think their goal was a foul, but nobody cares about that. We didn't deserve anything more and that's on me."
It's left Spurs a whopping seven points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa, and while Tottenham do have a game in hand, the capital club no longer have Champions League qualification in their own hands. Postecoglou's side have won just one of their last five Premier League outings, with their season looking like it could limp to a disappointing end.
On Tottenham's current form, he said: "We've been in a bit of a grind for a while now, but again that's part of our challenge and part of our growth. We're not sitting 18th in the table.

"Sometimes you've got to grind it out and get through it. Look, we were poor today and we didn't deserve to get anything out of the game."
But it was a question about Spurs' Champions League hopes from Sky Sports reporter Patrick Davison that really irked Postecoglou. When asked about Tottenham's chances, the Australian said: "I don't know how to answer these questions.
"We were poor today and that's where our focus is. What's the point in thinking about anything else? My responsibility is to make sure we perform better next time."
Tottenham return to Premier League action on Sunday, with a visit to face Liverpool at Anfield next up for the north Londoners.
