LBC uproar as 25,000 fans sign petition to reinstate Sangita Myska after host shake-up

Vanessa Feltz confirms new role on LBC

LBC listeners have been less than impressed after learning Sangita Myska will be leaving the station. The announcement comes after a string of changes at LBC, including Vanessa Feltz joining.

It was confirmed that Sangita will leave at the end of her contract, after being at the station for almost two years. Following the news, tens of thousands of people have signed a petition for LBC to reinstate the presenter.

Currently, at the time of writing, the petition has 26,873 signatures with people keen to see Sangita remain in her post. Started by a listener called David, he revealed he’s “deeply saddened” by the sudden removal of Sangita.

He said: “Sangita is a professional and thorough journalist whose insightful reporting has been a cornerstone of LBC's programming. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be easily filled, depriving listeners of her unique perspective on critical issues.”

The listener went on to praise the presenter for her dedication to journalism along with her balanced coverage. The petition closed off with the fan adding: “We believe in the importance of diverse voices in media and we value Sangita's contribution towards this goal. We urge LBC to reconsider their decision and reinstate Sangita Myska immediately.”

He said: “We’d like to thank Sangita for her fantastic contribution to LBC and we wish her every success in the future.”

Along with the announcement of Sangita’s exit, LBC revealed Vanessa Feltz will be launching her own show on May 4, following her departure from TalkTV.

The journalist will be on air on Saturday afternoons from 3pm to 6pm offering opinion, analysis and a deep dive on what matters to the British public.

Speaking about joining LBC in May, Vanessa shared her enthusiasm at being part of the LBC family.

She said: “After a long and passionate courtship, I’ve finally succumbed to the allure of LBC. Actually, I was powerless to resist.

“Global’s dynamism is mesmerising and it is THE high-octane station from which to broadcast, in this riveting election year.

“I can’t wait to join the Global family and get cracking. Brace yourself for May 4th – May the fourth be with you!”

However, Vanessa joining isn’t the only part of the shake-up at the broadcaster, as Ali Miraj will now have two weekend shows, after a successful stint guest hosting on LBC.

Iain Dale’s popular programme will now be extended to five days a week as he’ll be presenting on Friday evenings now too.

There will also be a new politics show on Sundays for The News Agents co-host Lewis Goodall as the station gears up for a huge year in British politics

The refreshed weekend schedule complements the station’s powerhouse of broadcasting talent, which includes Nick Ferrari, James O’Brien, Shelagh Fogarty, Andrew Marr, Tom Swarbrick, and Matt Frei.
