Man Utd star's brother savages Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo after Arne Slot deal
The brother of Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho has taken aim at Cody Gakpo in a savage social media dig. The Liverpool forward has struggled to set the Premier League alight since joining the club from PSV Eindhoven.

The sibling of the Argentina international has frequently jumped to the defence of Alejandro and proudly boasted his accolades.
However, Roberto has also retained his football fan voice on social media since his brother broke onto the scene at Old Trafford. The brother of the United forward took to X on Friday evening to poke fun at Gakpo after it emerged that Feyenoord’s Arne Slot is now set to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
Responding to a post outlining that an agreement had been reached between all parties, Roberto wrote: They acc (actually) think this bald (referring to Slot) can make Gakpo run faster.”

— roberto garnacho (@garna1k) April 26, 2024Gakpo has struggled since touching down at Liverpool from PSV in a deal worth £37million plus add-ons. The 24-year-old has scored 21 goals in 75 appearances for the Reds in all appearances, failing to tie down a regular spot in Klopp’s plans.
Instead, Gakpo has been shoehorned into numerous different positions for the Merseyside outfit, spending time on both wings, as a No. 10 and as a striker – with his versatility potentially counting against him given that other Liverpool forwards have been more frequent starters in different roles.

Gakpo will be hoping that linking up with a different Dutch manager could see him find his best form in England, with an agreement reportedly in place which will see Slot leave Feyenoord for Liverpool at the end of the season. The 45-year-old favours a 4-2-3-1 formation which could provide Gakpo with numerous opportunities to showcase what he has to offer, and the system shift could play into the hands of the Netherlands international more than Klopp’s current 4-3-3.
