This Creighton Brown McLaren F1 Is Eyeing Over $20 Million USD at Auction

An ultra-rare McLaren F1 is headed to Sotheby's Sealed auction next month.

The house will sell the only example of the British supercar that's done up in "Creighton Brown" with a "Light Tan/Brazilian Brown" interior. Moreover, the car has one of the lowest — if not the lowest — mileage numbers among existing McLaren F1 examples, with just 254 miles on the odometer almost 30 years after production.

The vehicle, which arrives with all the original accessories (a luggage set, a FACOM toolbox and a TAG Heuer 6000 Chronometer), is expected to sell for over $20 million USD. The car previously sold for $20.47 million USD in 2021, when it was expected to fetch $15 million USD.

“Just 106 of the iconic three-seater, V-12-engined F1 road cars were produced between 1992 and 1998, with just 64 being completed to original road car specification,” McLaren previously said. “To this day it remains the fastest naturally aspirated production car with a top speed of 240 mph — helping to cement its status as one of the most desirable of all collector cars.”

Per the automaker, this particular model was the 25th road car produced in the '90s, and it was first delivered to Japan in 1995. The supercar has since resided with a private collector in North Carolina.

The Sotheby's Sealed auction for the McLaren F1 029 will take place online from Wednesday, May 15, to Friday, May 17. Take a look at the vehicle in the gallery above.
