Ashworth taking Newcastle to tribunal over Man Utd move

Newcastle United sporting director Dan Ashworth is ready to take the club to court.

Ashworth is desperate to secure a move to Manchester United in the summer, but cannot break his contract.

He has been put on gardening leave, which his contract stipulates would be for one year.

Per the BBC, Ashworth wants to move to Man United as soon as possible and will take measures to do so.

The club have been unable to negotiate with Newcastle on compensation for Ashworth.

Ashworth previously worked at West Bromwich Albion, the Football Association and Brighton, joining the Magpies in 2022.
