Kevin Sullivan Comments on Swerve Strickland Winning the AEW World Title

– During a recent edition of Tuesday with The Taskmaster, former WCW wrestler and booker Kevin Sullivan discussed Swerve Strickland winning the AEW World Title over the weekend at AEW Dynasty and the praise he had for the wrestling star. He also reveals what he told Swerve Strickland after seeing him at an indie promotion, Pacific Northwest. Below are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):

Kevin Sullivan on Swerve Strickland: “I told [Strickland] he’d be a big star. The way he carries himself, and the way his hand movements are — it’s almost like he can get stuff over with his hands and his body language, where you really think he’s an arrogant son of a gun. But on the other hand, if he wants to be a babyface — I’ve seen him do both. When he’s selling, he looks like he’s getting killed.”

On AEW not pulling off the title change as well as they could have: “They missed the mark, maybe, but if anybody can make up [for] that, it’s this kid. He’s terrific and a great guy.”

Strickland beat Samoa Joe at AEW Dynasty last Sunday to win the title. During last night’s Dynamite, he beat Kyle Fletcher in a title eliminator bout. He’s also scheduled to speak on AEW Collision this Saturday, April 27 live on TNT.
