Tony Schiavone Is Very Happy for Swerve Strickland After AEW Title Win

– During a recent edition of What Happened When, AEW broadcaster Tony Schiavone discussed Swerve Strickland winning the AEW World Championship earlier this week at AEW Dynasty. He said the following on Strickland (via Fightful):

“I think it’s well-deserved. Swerve is not only a great performer, but he is a wonderful young man. If anybody deserves getting the run, being a champion, it’s him, and I’m very, very happy for him. I have a lot of time for him. Of course, I worked with him in MLW for a bit, so I knew Swerve before we all came into AEW, and I was really excited when we brought him in. So yeah, good job, Swerve. I hope it’s a good, long title run.”

Swerve Strickland beat Samoa Joe to win the title at AEW Dynasty on Sunday, April 21. The event was broadcast live on pay-per-view. Swerve will be speaking on Saturday night on AEW Collision live on TNT.
