Coronation Street's Bethany 'working with Nathan' as Lauren disappearance 'solved' by fans
Coronation Street fans have predicted a dark twist involving Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) and Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper). Viewers of the ITV soap will recall Nathan's time on the Cobbles back in 2016.
The evil character was part of a gang that groomed young girls, including Bethany. Nathan was eventually arrested and served with a custodial sentence.
But it appears he has somehow found his way out of prison as his return to Weatherfield was recently confirmed. Viewers are certain Nathan is somehow linked to Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), who has been missing since January.
Lauren had a mystery boyfriend who she was in contact with before she went missing, with some believing this to be Nathan. After telling Roy Cropper (David Neilson) of her plans to leave Weatherfield, Lauren vanished without a trace.

Lauren Bolton has been missing for months (Image: ITV)The police found evidence consistent with a violent assault after searching Lauren's flat and she is now presumed dead. Roy was recently arrested and charged with her murder.
However, viewers are convinced that Roy is innocent and the real culprit could be Bethany. Writing on a Facebook group, one fan wrote: "I think Bethany is still in touch with Nathan and she knows where Lauren has gone."
A second agreed: "I've thought of that too," as another added: "Said it all along Bethany knows something." But others believe Bethany could be helping to hide Lauren.
Before vanishing, Lauren approached Bethany and asked if she could write up the story of how she was brainwashed by a far-right group and sell it to a magazine.

One penned: "You know, that makes me think.. Bethany spoke about the commission for doing the story... On Lauren's ultra right-wing connection. I think maybe Bethany helped her to hide, so the racists won't find her when the story comes out."
Another agreed: "I think that Bethany told her that she would be running the story and Lauren told her she has to hide out or there would be consequences against her and they wouldn't be good. So I think Bethany knows where she is but is trying to protect her."
Nathan's return is reportedly in a bid to boost the soap's ratings. A source told The Sun: "Nathan's easily the worst villain Corrie's ever produced. The grooming storyline was one of the soap's most important. The hope is that revisiting it will boost the show. It's a risk but it's one that producers hope will pay off."
