Harry Maguire has hailed the winning mentality and positivity brought to Manchester United by INEOS since Sir Jim Ratcliffe became co-owner in February. The Red Devils defender has opened up on talks with club chief Sir Dave Brailsford and is confident about the required change taking place in the coming years.

Ratcliffe and his INEOS confidants have wasted no time in setting the wheels in motion to enact change at Old Trafford after inheriting total control over football operations from the Glazer family.

The 71-year-old views dragging United out of a decade of mediocrity and restoring their status as English football's dominant force as a passion project.

He has insisted that football will always come first, which hadn't been the case under the Glazer regime, and Brailsford is among the best-in-class figures that form a new-look sporting hierarchy.

The former head of British Cycling has reportedly been a regular presence at Carrington since Ratcliffe's 27.7 per cent stake was confirmed earlier this year, and he is often in attendance at matches.

Brailsford is said to have held meetings with players and staff as part of INEOS' project to re-implement a winning culture at United starting from next season.

And Maguire has revealed that he is confident change is on the horizon in M16 after being informed of Ratcliffe and Co.'s vision.

"They've brought a lot of positivity to the club and to the fan base. I think there will be changes, and rightly so," Maguire told Sky Sports.

"The club are wanting to get back to where it was 15 years ago, and that's fighting for the big trophies and league titles. They've come in and had conversations with us all.

"It's been really positive and a good energy that they've brought to the club. I'm sure they have a plan.

"We know what their vision is and it's a vision to win. When Sir Dave [Brailsford] has come in, he spoke about winning and that's the main focus of this club. That's what this club is all about."

Ruthless change has already taken place off the pitch. Omar Berrada will start this summer after replacing Richard Arnold as chief executive.

Jason Wilcox commenced work as United's new technical director this week after a compensation package was agreed with Southampton. Darren Fletcher is set to retain a key role at the club.

John Murtough departed earlier this month ahead of the arrival of his sporting director successor, Dan Ashworth, who is currently serving gardening leave at Newcastle United.

The change Maguire refers to could extend to manager Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff. It will certainly impact the playing squad - and perhaps him personally - in what is expected to be a busy summer.
