Jane McDonald shares career move as she praises new co-star after quitting Loose Women
Jane McDonald took to social media this week to share a huge announcement in her career. The 61-year-old, who is known for her Channel 5 travel documentaries, shared the news on Twitter on Tuesday morning.
She wrote: “I'm so excited to be performing in The London Palladium's panto. Returning for the ninth magnificent season this year's panto, will be Robin Hood. I'll be starring as Maid Marion, with Palladium panto royalty Julian Clary as Robin Hood!”
Sharing a snap of herself in the promotional material alongside her new co-stars, it wasn’t long before people commented on their excitement of being able to see Jane onstage. Social media user @winetilly said: “Have a ball! What a fantastic opportunity, you’ll be the fairest Maid in Wakefield.”
@KayeHunnisett2 added: “I'm guessing that most of your fans are extremely excited too Jane, I certainly know that I will be ready and waiting to buy tickets!!” @JulieSm49260846 commented: “Brilliant news [sic] Looking forward to seeing you in panto. Oh no, I'm not. Oh yes, I am!! Can't wait.”
@LornaCo85100506 wrote: “Can't wait, Jane! It's soooooo exciting!” @CharladyByrne said: “You are spoiling us this year! Can’t wait.”

Jane has been a staple on British TV for many years and recently excited fans with a possible return to Loose Women.
The ITV show is celebrating its 25th year in September and according to an inside source are planning to bring back some fan favourites, according to Bella magazine
One of those includes Jane, who left her role as a Loose Women panellist back in 2014.

However, it seems as though people may be disappointed as a spokesperson told Entertainment Daily there are currently no discussions about her return.
They said: "There are no discussions taking place with regards to Jane returning to Loose Women whatsoever.
“She always thoroughly enjoys going back as a guest and catching up with the ladies but there's no plans to go back as a panellist."
Express.co.uk have reached out to Jane’s representatives for comment.

The former ITV star was last seen on the show in 2023 when she appeared as a guest.
She sat alongside Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Carol McGiffin and Linda Robson as the panellist caught up on Jane’s life after Loose Women.
