Marcus Rashford endured a day to forget in Manchester United's dramatic FA Cup semi-final victory against Coventry City on Sunday. Mark Robins' Coventry players reportedly had similar reactions to Rashford's performance at Wembley Stadium that spoke volumes about his disappointing 2023/24 season.

Erik ten Hag replaced the struggling star with Amad Diallo at the end of stoppage time as his five-match goal drought continued against the Championship side.

Rashford was ultimately fed to the lions moments after Haji Wright scored a 95th-minute penalty to force extra-time after United led 3-0 on 70 minutes.

The 26-year-old has lost the support of sections of the fanbase during an underwhelming season worsened by off-field controversy, including his Belfast bender and post-derby defeat party.

Supporters made their disapproval of his latest showing known as he left the Wembley turf, with a chorus of boos across the sea of red on the east side of the national stadium.

Coventry's players were reportedly just as stunned by Rashford's toothless display while United were in control and after chaos ensued where one more goal would've ended the Sky Blues' resurgence.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Coventry stars were alarmed how easily they were able to nullify Rashford during the FA Cup semi-final classic.

The spirited squad is said to feel that they easily isolated the England international and that he could've been more involved in making a difference.

One Coventry player reportedly sympathised with United fans for having to watch Rashford fail to ensure his proven ability translates into deciding games.

Rashford looked to have been carrying an injury after the semi-final as he limped through the mixed zone at Wembley, marking him as a doubt for Wednesday's Premier League clash against Sheffield United.

The Red Devils won't get a better chance to shake off their semi-final scare, with Burnley - joining Sheffield United in the bottom two - also visiting Old Trafford on Saturday.

But doubts over Rashford extend beyond his fitness for the upcoming fixtures. His future at United is increasingly uncertain ahead of a summer of ruthless change under INEOS' stewardship.

He scored a career-best 30 goals last season but has managed just eight this term after signing a new £300,000-a-week contract until 2028 in the summer.

If suitable interest emerges, United could be tempted to cash in and allow Rashford to pursue a fresh challenge elsewhere while funding much-needed transfer business.
