Manchester City ace Phil Foden and Arsenal star Bukayo Saka have been omitted from the official Euro 2024 sticker book, despite the fact the duo are almost certain to be named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the tournament. The sticker album has been produced by American company Topps after UEFA ended their partnership with Italian firm Panini two years ago.

Foden and Saka aren’t the only notable absentees from the new sticker album, with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Kyle Walker and John Stones also failing to make the grade. Meanwhile, Topps have included a whole host of players who may not even feature at this summer’s tournament, including Callum Wilson, Rico Lewis and Fikayo Tomori. And, bizarrely, there is also a sticker of Leicester defender Luke Thomas, who is currently on loan at Middlesbrough.

But Topps have turned the blame on Panini and say UEFA’s former sticker and trading card partner have “blocked certain parts of the collection.”

A Topps spokesperson said: “Topps is proud of its first Euro 2024 sticker collection for the upcoming competition. While we are disappointed that a small number of players are missing, this is due to the tournament’s former sticker partner having blocked certain parts of the collection to the detriment of the fans.

“Unlike the former sticker partner, we are committed to the fans and believe the offering of stickers and cards – and range of current and former players – will get everyone excited for the tournament.”

To add to the chaos, Topps have also included stickers for the Wales squad even though Rob Page’s team didn’t qualify for the tournament. The sticker album was reportedly printed before Wales had been defeated by Poland in a play-off at the end of last month following a penalty shootout at Cardiff City Stadium.

According to The Telegraph, Panini have retained the rights to aspects of some of the top teams at Euro 2024, including England, Germany, France, Spain and Italy. And the firm have even produced their own rival sticker album ahead of the tournament.

Fans will likely have to fork out hundreds of pounds to complete the sticker books, with Topps selling packets of six stickers for £1 each and Panini selling packets of five stickers for 90p each. The Topps album contains 728 stickers, while the Panini album consists of 387 stickers.

Euro 2024 is set to get underway on Friday, June 14 when hosts Germany take on Scotland. England are currently the favourites with many bookmakers to lift the trophy, while France and Germany have also been tipped to do well.
