Erik ten Hag future thrown into fresh doubt as Man Utd 'make Jason Wilcox request'
Jason Wilcox's first task as Manchester United technical director will reportedly involve conducting an audit on whether Erik ten Hag should remain the club's manager. Ten Hag's future is under increasing uncertainty after Sunday's FA Cup semi-final capitulation against Coventry City.

According to the Telegraph, United have requested a detailed assessment of Ten Hag's suitability, essentially placing him on trial until the end of the campaign.
Wilcox will reportedly examine the 54-year-old's strengths and weaknesses and his relationship with his dressing room.

He is set to hold extensive discussions with Ten Hag, his staff, and his players over the next month to determine whether he would be able to operate in a new-look 'game model'.

Together, Ashworth and Wilcox will ensure United's football operations are streamlined through every department, from the head coach to the scouting network to the medical team.
The report adds that part of Wilcox's audit will focus on whether United's problems this season have mainly been down to the club's torrid luck with injuries, as Ten Hag has repeatedly pointed towards.
He is set to analyse Ten Hag's training sessions to determine whether problems go beyond that, like if the United boss is too inflexible or if his players are ignoring instructions.
However, it's claimed that if the Old Trafford giants miss out on European football altogether this term, the manager's position could become untenable regardless of Wilcox's findings.
