Death In Paradise's Josephine Jobert shares struggles before 'flying off for new job'

Death in Paradise: Neville says goodbye to Florence

Death in Paradise star Josephine Jobert recently took to social media to share an update with her fans on her career. Posting a black and white snap of herself, the BBC star teased she’s got a new job underway.

She captioned the image: “Flying off on Sunday for the new job, still a long to-do list to complete. I also have to pack and I’m exhausted so I haven’t done anything yet. All good.”

The actress recently left the BBC show at the end of season 13 with DI Neville Parker (played by Ralf Little) following in tow. After an on-off romance, fans were thrilled the detective decided to follow his heart.

Being persuaded by the Saint Marie police crew, Neville caught Flo just in time before she left. In a heartwarming show of affection, he told her: “I don’t need promises, I don’t need guarantees.

“If the unknown is all you have to offer then it’s good enough for me. Whatever happens, and wherever it leads, all I want is for us to take a leap together.”

The final scenes showed the duo sailing away from the island together into the sunset holding hands.

Although it’s not clear where the duo are heading, some fans believe they could be making their way to Australia.

It comes after it was announced another Death in Paradise spin-off was in the works, titled Return to Paradise.

This month, one of Josephine’s Instagram followers directly messaged her asking when she would go back to acting.

Sharing the question on her stories, she wrote: “That’s one of the rules in business. Things can be pretty quiet for months, and then all of a sudden, everything happens at once. To be continued.”

Teasing something has come up in her career along with detailing that she’s got a new job she’s flying to on her recent stories, could the star be reprising her role as DS Florence Cassell once again?

It wouldn’t be the first time characters from Death in Paradise have continued their stories outside of the show either.

At the start of 2023, fans were thrilled to see Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) back on their screens in their own show, Beyond Paradise.

Although no actors have been confirmed to feature in the latest spin-off, viewers have been given a glimpse of what to expect.

The six-part series will follow Mackenzie Clarke, an ex-London Metropolitan, on her venture back to her childhood home of Dolphin Cove in Australia.

A synopsis of the episode reads: “Having escaped her hometown at the earliest opportunity six years ago, Mack vowed she'd never come back, leaving a lot of unfinished business and unanswered questions. On her return, she’s still no fan of the town, and the people of Dolphin Cove are certainly no fans of hers. In fact, everyone would prefer her not to be there, including Mackenzie herself.

But when a murder takes place in Dolphin Cove, Mack can’t help but put her inspired detective brilliance to good use and determines, despite her reservations, that she needs to make the best of it, including tying up the loose ends with the man she left at the altar six years ago.

Death in Paradise is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
