Tesla Recalls All 3,878 Cybertrucks Due to Accelerator Pedal Issue

Tesla’s Cybertruck rollout has been rocky at best. After multiple delays on the car actually entering production, the company announced last month that the latest round of vehicle shipments would be delayed.

It’s now recalling all of its $61,000 USD Cybertrucks, of which there are 3,878. The US Department of Transportation posted the recall, citing an issue with the accelerator pedal that could cause it to dislodge and become trapped within the car’s interior trim, which would prevent users from breaking.

In a filing from Tesla, a customer alerted the company about the issue in March. A second claim was brought by another customer just days after.

Tesla voluntarily recalled its Cybertrucks and says it plans to remedy the issue before shipping out its new batch of units. The issue impacts all Cybertrucks produced between November 2023 and April 2024.

The company said it’s "not aware of any collisions, injuries or deaths relating to this condition.”
