Bryson DeChambeau could be facing his final rounds at the Masters as he contemplates his future following his move to LIV Golf. The powerhouse star's exemption for the prestigious tournament runs out in 2025, due to his victory at the 2020 US Open.

Golfers can secure a spot at Augusta through various achievements, such as being in the top 50 world rankings from the previous year, clinching a PGA Tour event leading up to the major, or having past victories at the US Open, Open Championships, PGA Championships, and the Masters itself. They can also be personally invited.

However, LIV Golf players are at a disadvantage as their events don't count towards world ranking points, and they're excluded from PGA Tour events.

Aware of his predicament, DeChambeau, after his final round on Sunday, expressed uncertainty about his future y telling reporters, "I don't know what the future holds.

"But one thing I do know, if I do get invited, I'd gratefully come back after my exemption is up."

Despite the controversy surrounding LIV Golf, the Masters showed openness by inviting LIV golfer Joaquin Niemann this year.

Moreover, last year's Masters champion and recent LIV convert, Rahm, was the host of the champions dinner, indicating that the doors to Augusta may not be entirely closed for LIV athletes.

Augusta might have reservations about DeChambeau following his audacious remarks about the course however.

The power-hitting 30 year old previously suggested that for him, Augusta should be a par-67 instead of a par-72 due to his prodigious driving distance.

"I can reach all the par fives in two, no problem," he boasted to the Golf Channel. "If the conditions stay the way they are, that's what I feel like par is for me."

However, DeChambeau was left to eat his words after failing to make the cut in both 2022 and 2023. This year, though, he made significant strides, challenging the leaderboard on several occasions.

Reflecting on his performance, he expressed pride and anticipation for the next tournament, hinting at further improvements to come.

"I'm looking forward to next year," he added. "I really am. There's a few more things I need to dial in with my equipment, but I am super close."
