Weeks after Fernandes' reported exchange with Cath, he also worked with director of fan engagement Richard McGagh to come up with the idea of rewarding travelling supporters at Brentford.

The Portuguese maestro earned plaudits for instigating the gesture of Red Devils players gifting their shirts to the away end after a dismal 1-1 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium.
