The Repair Shop star Brenton West opened up about his most emotional moment on the BBC programme. The TV personality has been an expert on the show since it first kicked off in 2017 and has endured a number of tear-jerking moments.

Brenton reflected on one particular item that will always stick with him for a heartbreaking reason. Asked about his most challenging fix, the star responded: "Very recently I repaired a little garden bee ornament which belonged to a young man who has now sadly passed away.

"He had given his grandfather this bee, so it was a very emotional fix. It was also challenging, knowing how important the item was, so that really sticks in my mind."

Brenton continued: "There have been so many amazing fixes though - Jack Laugher’s gold and silver Olympic medals were really cool, Paul McCartney’s platinum records and The Oman spice trunk, to name a few more."

Brenton also discussed which fixes are the most rewarding to him, and it's centred around making guests happy. "Fixing things that people say can’t be fixed - and there are a lot of those at The Repair Shop!" he said.

The expert added: "Making people happy, having repaired something that 'couldn’t be fixed' is really rewarding." The photography specialist also recalled how he got involved with The Repair shop.

"There was a camera repair I did initially," he explained. "Then, I got a 'metalwork' job repairing something for Will on the show. He asked if the repair could be filmed, and I've been here ever since."

It comes after Dean Westmoreland opened up about the physical toll his job has taken on him, revealing he has sustained permanent damage to his hand due to constantly using machinery. Dean, who joined The Repair Shop in 2021, told OK!: "I have a squared-off thumb!"

Despite his injury, the cobbler confessed his job is incredibly fulfilling because his work makes customers happy. He added: "It's really fulfilling. You know the history of the item, the story, you get an insight into people's lives. So there's that extra responsibility. When you give it back and they're happy, there's such a sense of relief."
