REVEALED: Barcelona in contact with Athletic Bilbao coach Valverde

Barcelona are exploring the prospect of bringing back Ernesto Valverde.

That's according to Ok Diario's chief pundit, Eduardo Inda, when speaking on El Chiringuito.

Barca see Athletic Bilbao's Copa winning coach as a potential successor for Xavi, who remains on track to leave at the end of the season.

Inda said: "The continuity of Xavi depends on what happens on the 21st against Real Madrid at the Bernabéu and what happens against PSG.

"(Joan) Laporta has several B plans and there is one that has been activated today. If Barça wins at the Bernabéu and reaches the semifinals or the European Cup final, I find it difficult for Xavi to leave.

"In any case, there is another plan. Barça has contacted Txingurri Valverde. When he was at Barça he did frankly well. He enjoys a good reputation in Can Barça."
