ITV Coronation Street's Alya Nazir 'to exit' as beloved star departs after nine years

Coronation Street is set to bid farewell to a beloved character as an actress leaves her role after nine years. Alya Nazir, played by Sair Khan, could be leaving the Cobbles in a dramatic turn of events next week.

The actress, who is expecting her first child, is due to go on maternity leave soon, and this could coincide with a new storyline being unveiled.

In upcoming scenes from the ITV soap, Adam Barlow is seen meeting a new client named Rebecca. As they share a bottle of wine at the Chariot Square Hotel bar, it's evident there's chemistry between them.

However, when Alya calls him back to the office for a meeting, Adam chooses to ignore the call.

Back at the office, Alya steps in for Adam and meets with Rich from Fabian's. He is highly impressed with her abilities, reports the Mirror.

Rich commends her knowledge and believes she has what it takes to become a future partner in the firm.

Meanwhile, Adam and Rebecca return to the Cobbles, where he invites her to his office.

Their arrival interrupts Alya and Rich's meeting, with the pair caught mid-kiss, leaving Rich less than pleased.

Later in the week, Alya decides to accept Rich's job offer, leaving Adam and Dee-Dee struggling to keep things organised without her.

Rich takes Alya out for lunch, expressing his belief that she'll make an excellent partner one day.

Adam's day takes a turn for the worse when he receives an email from a major client announcing that they are moving all their business to Fabian.

The shock will surely be palpable as Adam discovers the amount of work he stands to lose and realises that Alya has lured away one of their biggest clients.

Coronation Street star Sair Khan couldn't hide her happiness as she and her partner are expecting a baby together.

Sharing her thoughts, she posted: "Life can be difficult and there'll always be challenges to face but there are also important lessons to be learnt and gifts to be cherished.

"We're so excited for the arrival of Baby Chilton in Spring 2024."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday's at 8pm on ITV and ITVX.
