France will next take on Ireland in the semi-final, who went the distance against the USA after needing extra-time to decide the outcome – the Irish came out on top 24-19 over the Americans. In the women's competition, it will be another showdown on Sunday at Hong Kong Stadium between Australia and New Zealand for a place in the final, while France will clash with the USA.
