Arsenal will be hoping to continue their title charge with a victory over Brighton tonight. Mikel Arteta rotated his team in midweek against Luton Town to ensure that they head to the Amex Stadium with a fully fit squad, and the Spaniard will be hoping to cruise to victory over the injury-ridden Seagulls to keep their confidence levels high at a crucial stage in the campaign. Express Sport takes a look at how the Gunners may line up…

Goalkeeper: David Raya

Arteta has snubbed Aaron Ramsdale in favour of Raya on a weekly basis so far this season, and he is unlikely to go back on that decision now that the pressure is mounting. Brighton have not struggled for goals so far this season, and the Brentford loanee will need to be at his best to keep the likes of Danny Welbeck and Simon Adingra at bay.

Defence: Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel, Oleksandr Zinchenko

Arsenal may opt to name an unchanged backline on Saturday, with Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jakub Kiwior providing options from the bench. White, Saliba and Gabriel are three of the first names on the team sheet for Arsenal, but the attacking-minded Zinchenko could provide a spark of creativity by stepping into midfield from the defence if required following his solid display on Wednesday night.

Midfield: Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, Jorginho

Rice and Jorginho were afforded much-needed rests at the Emirates Stadium in midweek, and the composed duo are likely to return to Arteta’s midfield trio this weekend. In a game where possession will prove crucial, Jorginho could be crucial presence to ensure that Arsenal keep the ball when they have it.

Forwards: Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli

Arteta refused to be drawn into confirming whether Saka will be fit to start against Brighton on Friday morning, saying: “We have a training session in a few hours and we will know if he’s fit or not.” The Spaniard therefore may be keeping his cards close to his chest on the matter and it would be no surprise to see the England international featured in the starting XI. Jesus may also be handed the chance to prove his worth with a start after he was an unused substitute against the Hatters, potentially at the expense of Kai Havertz.
