BBC MasterChef hosts Gregg Wallace and John Torode break silence on show future

This Morning: Masterchef hosts reveal the show's future

Masterchef stars Gregg Wallace and John Torrode appeared on This Morning to discuss the new BBC series. John, 59, shut down rumours that the pair would be bowing out of the popular cookery show after two decades.

Chatting to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary the duo discussed what viewers can expect this season. The ITV presenters wanted to put to bed rumours when it was suggested it would be Gregg, 58, and John’s final season.

Alison, 49, asked them: “So the 20th series is coming up, but obviously there’s been a lot of rumours whether or not it's the last one. We are hoping it’s not, obviously we want to put those rumours to bed. Is this gonna be the last series?”

Gregg could not believe what he was hearing as he sat on the iconic blue sofa. He turned to John and burst into hysterics, finding it hard to control himself.

John responded in a calm tone: “Alison stop it”. Confirming it was just hearsay, Alison pushed for an answer, “It’s not gonna be true is it?”(sic)
